Property Law & Conveyancing

From first homes to commercial portfolios and development sites — property advice with every detail covered.

Property, done properly

For most people and many businesses, property is the largest transaction they will make. We act for buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, lenders and developers across Queensland — from first home buyers through to commercial property investors — and we treat every contract as if the whole transaction depends on it, because it does.

Conveyancing for buyers

Our role is to make sure you know exactly what you are buying and on what terms, before you are locked in. For buyers, we:

  • Review the contract before you sign, and explain your rights and obligations in plain language
  • Identify conditions that need to be satisfied — finance, building and pest, due diligence
  • Conduct searches and check title, easements and encumbrances
  • Assist with transfer documentation and transfer duty
  • Coordinate settlement with the other side and your lender, and complete the legal transfer

Conveyancing for sellers

For sellers, we prepare and check contract disclosure, monitor conditions as they fall due, coordinate with your bank on the discharge of any mortgage, keep you informed of progress at each stage, and attend to settlement so the sale completes on time.

Commercial conveyancing & transactions

We act on commercial property transactions of all sizes — offices, retail, industrial and mixed-use — including contract preparation and negotiation, GST and leasing considerations, and settlement. Where the property forms part of a business sale or purchase, we run both together as one engagement with our commercial team.

Leasing

A lease shapes a business’s costs and flexibility for years. We act for landlords and tenants on retail and commercial leases — preparing and reviewing lease terms, advising on rights and obligations, and assisting with renewals, assignments, incentives and disputes.

Development & body corporate

We assist developers and owners with site acquisition, development agreements, easements and similar rights, community titles and body corporate matters — including advice on rights and obligations under body corporate legislation.

Property disputes

Boundary and easement issues, contract terminations, deposit disputes, caveats and co-ownership disagreements are best addressed early. We advise on your position and options — and where proceedings are needed, our litigation team acts for you.
